Aidols
Aidols is a social networking and short-video app that combines posts, reels, messaging, groups, and creator profiles in one mobile product built for sharing, discovery, and community.
Overview
The product story
Social networking app for posts, reels, and community
Aidols is a mobile social networking app built around posting, short-form video, messaging, and creator profiles. The product brings together standard feed content, reels, direct messages, group conversations, and profile-based discovery so users can connect, share, and stay active without bouncing between separate apps or fragmented features.
Reels, messaging, and creator identity in one product loop
The strongest part of Aidols is how its social surfaces connect. The feed supports reactions, comments, and sharing. The creation flow gives users a clean entry into posts or reels. Messaging keeps conversations inside the product. Profiles, follow mechanics, and discovery features give the app a clearer creator-community shape. Recent store updates also show the product continuing to grow through reel enhancements, chat expansion, group-page updates, and stronger video editing support.
Challenge
Aidols needed to feel like one coherent social product, not a loose stack of posts, reels, messaging, and profile screens. The challenge was to make creation, discovery, conversation, and creator identity support each other without making the app feel heavy.
Solution
The product was shaped around a tighter social loop: users can publish posts or reels, discover content through feeds and hashtags, message directly or in groups, and build a recognizable profile in the same app. That makes Aidols more usable as both a creator app and a community app.
How we did it
The important execution details
Built the core social surfaces around feed posts, reels, profiles, and notifications so users could move between browsing, publishing, and responding without friction.
Supported creation flows for both standard posts and short-form reels, matching the App Store product direction around video editing, trimming, filters, and faster publishing.
Expanded real-time interaction through direct chat, group chat, and page or group updates, which also shows up in the later App Store release history.
Kept the discovery layer clear with profile follow mechanics, trending content, hashtag exploration, and AI-curated feed behavior instead of treating discovery as a separate product.
Result
What the project delivered
Delivered a clearer social networking app where posts, reels, messaging, and creator identity work as one product story.
Created a stronger foundation for short-form video, community interaction, and creator-led discovery on mobile.
Gave Aidols room to evolve across chat, group workflows, reel improvements, and richer content creation without losing the core social loop.
